The Odyssey takes the fall of the city of Troy as its starting point and crafts a new epic around the struggle of one of those Greek warriors, the hero Odysseus.

The Iliad and The Odyssey have the same elements in their structure and shape: each epic poem consists of 24 books and is written in dactylic hexameter with the use of the same literary devices. Their plots also have similar traits: a ring-form composition and numerous divine interventions. Homer is the presumed author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, two hugely influential epic poems of ancient Greece.

If Homer did in fact compose the works, he is one of the greatest literary artists in the world, and, through these poems, he affected Western standards and ideas. Why is the Iliad important today? How did Homer impact the world? What did Homer accomplish?

What do we know for sure about Homer? Who Won the Trojan War? Who defeated Achilles? Does Achilles know his weakness? What is the weakest part of Achilles body?

Transcending almost years of time with its emotional resonance, integrity, and relevance to both the Ancient and Modern world, the Iliad is arguably one of the most outstanding poetic feats in the history of Western literature, praised explicitly throughout the ages by esteemed historians and scholars alike.

Whilst the Iliad has had a varying impact on a large degree of historical figures throughout ancient history, perhaps one of the most significant is that of Alexander the Great, an ancient king of Macedon, largely regarded as one….

It was called the Trojan War. This war has defined the way people view ancient Greece. This story of mythological gods and heroic warriors has provided insight into the attitudes, customs, religion, and warfare of the ancient Greeks.
